Dark Waves brought their synth-pop sound to JBTV from the sunny state of California. Dark Waves takes the audience to a darker place filled with heartbreak, desperation, and self reflection. Off their self-titled EP, "I Don't Wanna Be In Love" brings back memories of a first heartbreak. Reminiscent of new wave synth sounds yet mixed with electronic sounds and swooning lyrics similar to The XX fill the five track EP. Once a part of punk band Dead Country, front man Nick Long is no stranger to the stage as he performs "I Don't Wanna Be In Love" with a sadness felt in the crowd. The powerful emotion leaves them wanting more.
